Swaledale Butchers - brand identity
Swaledale Butchers support small scale farmers, promote heritage and native livestock breeds, and supply customers across the UK with sustainable, traceable meat that’s Always Fresh Never Frozen®.  

We were tasked with developing their brand - elevating it to visually represent their premium product, commitment to their suppliers and their skills in traditional butchery. 
We made visual references to butchery, developed a premium colour scheme for the brand and used typography that had a traditional style but we used it in a contemporary way. 

We also developed an image treatment - heightening the contrast, saturation and details - to really show off the quality of the meat they sell. 

A visual link to the countryside was very important - we did this throughout the e-commerce site - through using the logo as a mask, visually linking the brand to the land. 

Swaledale continue to grow their online presence through collaborations with chefs, other brands and online communities - and now they have the tools to maintain a strong brand identity alongside others.
